I had completely forgotten there was a season three of this coming out. Absolutely loved season one, where we finally got to see a damn good, menacing and terrifyingly powerful version of Ultron become a godlike being and almost destroy the multiverse. This is the kind of treatment he should have received in live action. But yeah, let’s not open that can of worms or I could start rambling. Again.

Season two was good, not stellar, but still worth a look with some new faces, some returning faces, and a very surprising heel turn for a character we thought had been redeemed in season one.

And now, we have season three. Not gonna lie, I lost my shit at the very end of this trailer. I won’t spoil it, but it’s worth the look. The new season (and final apparently) brings us some interesting new team ups and genre mash-ups while retaining the Marvel brand of humor that’s been missing in recent instalments. There’s even a Power Rangers type Avengers megazord mecha vs monster fight. Yeah you heard me. Pretty sure I saw a Wild West type story in there somewhere too, flashing by in a few blink and miss moments. Yeah. They’re really swinging for the fences with this one. And I love it. But it looks like our resident Watcher friend may be in trouble with his colleagues, and with Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars looming, it may have some interesting consequences for the multiverse.

A solid trailer that promises some bold, new stories set across the Marvel multiverse (and a truly WTF moment at the trailers end), Marvel’s What If…? Season 3 will premiere on Disney+ on December 22^nd 2024.
